Shell Companion

What is the Shell Companion?

The Shell Companion lives within the same network context as your OIE instance, allowing you to easily diagnose your integration channel connections through the use of its industry-standard CLI toolkit.

Why not just permit SSH?

Direct shell access to a production host is powerful and hard to constrain. Shell Companion exposes a defined set of operations from the portal, so day-to-day administration doesn't require SSH credentials or a hardened jump box, and each action is attributed to a user.

What tasks can I carry out?

Common operational tasks — such as inspecting logs, restarting the OIE service, checking CPU, memory, and disk usage, and routine certificate and file housekeeping. The exact set of actions available depends on your instance configuration.

Are actions recorded?

Yes. Operations carried out through the Shell Companion are attributed to the user who ran them and recorded, so there is a clear record of what was done and by whom.

How do I request support?
